How We Have Subscribed to a Life of Subscriptions?

My affinity for CNN.com developed some time ago. It must’ve been during the pandemic actually when it became second nature for me to incorporate several daily scrolls on CNN’s news website.

Monday evening, CNN informed me in the form of a screen pop up that I am “Out of Free Articles.”

Now, I’m far from naive. I’ve known for years that America would put a price on the blessing that is waking up and stepping out of bed if it could. The more I think about it, CNN was the last of my online news platforms that was not asking for a monthly subscription fee.

We pay for our cell phones, pay monthly to use our cell phones (a bill we can never pay off) and soon every app, news platform and the like that we can utilize on our phones will have an additional fee.

And will we ever position ourselves to unsubscribe? The creators of these apps and sites have profited on our incessant need to have certain resources on our phones.
