Second Half Surge Lifts Pinkston Over Roosevelt

Dallas - After a 14-6 halftime lead, Pinkston (1-3) pulled away from Roosevelt (0-4) Thursday night to earn its first victory of the young season 29-18.

Both Dallas teams were eager for a win as they took the field at Sprague Stadium. The first half featured a back and forth struggle for offensive scoring. Senior JaCorian Smith, however, was able to break free for several impressive runs for Pinkston.

The second half quickly got away from the Mustangs, as Pinkston went up 29-6 by the end of the third quarter. Despite efforts to pull even, the Mustangs fell short and Pinkston earned its first victory of the season 29-18. Pinkston will face Spruce next week. Roosevelt will returns to Sprague Stadium to face Kimball.
