Kimball Controls Tempo Against Pinkston, Advances to State

Dallas - Kimball never trailed in Friday night’s 69-51 victory over Pinkston, earning in the process the 4A Division I Region II Championship.
The Knights controlled both the scoreboard and the tempo, going up by 15 points in the first half. Senior Kayden Gray led all scorers with 18 points and imposed his will on almost every offensive possession for Kimball. Fellow senior David Coe added 16 points and six assists for the Knights.
Stacy Johnson was undoubtedly the leader for Pinkston Friday night, scoring 14 points and dishing out three assists for the Vikings.
Pinkston managed to narrow the margin to 30-25 in the second half, but a composed Kimball team would recover quickly and never relinquish the lead. With the win, Kimball advances as the No.3 team to the state semifinals where they will face No. 16 West Plains.
