Arlington - The Dallas Wings (2-11) are back in the win column after defeating the Golden State Valkyries (5-6) 80-71 Tuesday night.

Paige Bueckers and Arike Ogunbowale led the Wings in scoring with 20 and 19 points respectively, but it was the energy of recently re-signed guard Kaila Charles that inspired the full-game effort for Dallas.

In her 24 minutes on the floor, Charles scored 10 points, recorded five rebounds, four assists, four steals and a block. She was everywhere on the court, diving after loose balls and hustling for rebounds.

“It was an incredible response to be able to live through the last 72 hours that Kaila had,” Dallas Coach Chris Koclanes shared post game. She's the ultimate pro. She's versatile - guarding everyone. Her tenacity in getting us extra possessions is contagious. We're just happy she's back with us.”

With centers Luisa Geiselsöder and Teaira McCowan away from the team to fulfill their national team obligations, Dallas was excited to welcome the addition of 6’7” Li Yueru. The second year player saw 13 minutes of playing time and much to the delight of the fans - had several hustle plays.

Tuesday’s game was the first match up between Dallas and Golden State. Four former Wings returned to the College Park Center for the Valkyries. Monique Billings led all Valkyries with 18 points. Kayla Thornton contributed 17 points. Veronica Burton added four points and five assists. Recently signed Aerial Powers didn't see any action Tuesday night.

The Wings hope to capitalize on the momentum when they face the Connecticut Sun on Friday.
