Pinkston Holds Off Seagoville to Earn 3-0 Season Start

Pinkston outlasts Seagoville for a 21-20 victory Thursday night.

Wilmer Hutchins - In what proved to be an exciting Thursday night matchup - the Pinkston Vikings outlasted the Seagoville Dragons 21 - 20 to improve their early season record to 3-0.

Melvin Kelly rushed for all three of Pinkston’s touchdowns, one in each of the first three quarters. The Vikings were held scoreless in the final quarter, as Seagoville mounted a comeback.

Ronald Manning scored on a nine-yard third quarter run and then a three-yard run to begin the fourth quarter. Much to the delight of the Seagoville crowd, Manning also ran the two point conversion in to cut the deficit to 21-20. Two failed two point attempts, however, proved to be the difference in the game.

In this close contest, Pinkston’s offense totaled 268 yards and Seagoville’s offense totaled 265 yards.

The Vikings (3-0) will play Arlington Newman International next Friday. Seagoville (2-1) will host Spruce.
