Is Luka Doncic the Best Player in the NBA?

Tonight Luka Dončić has become the NBA’s first player to score a triple double in a Mexico City game - Dallas defeating Detroit 122 - 111. In the Mavericks 17th win of the season, Dončić totaled 41 points, 12 rebounds and 11 assists.

An onslaught of offensive scoring has become the norm for Dončić. Not only is he third in the league in scoring, but he recently surpassed Michael Jordan for the most consecutive games played with 20 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists.

Dončić has a hot hand, his coach’s confidence and the trust of his teammates. The 20 year-old has made believers out of Dallas fans and is indeed on the radar of the other 29 NBA teams.

So is Dončić the NBA’s best player?

Much debate will continue to be made until the Mavericks make an extended push in the playoffs, but there is no doubt - Dončić will remain in the conversation for league MVP.
