In a battle of tigers Tuesday night, Lancaster took an early lead against Lincoln and would never relinquish their advantage. The visiting Lancaster team (8-1) outlasted Lincoln (4-7) with a final score of 84-64.

The first quarter was completely dominated by Lancaster, as Lincoln went one and done just about every time they possessed the ball. Lancaster guard Mike Miles started strong and would finish strong with a game high 26 points. Stand out guard Wade Taylor also added 24 points for Lancaster, and hit several clutch three pointers.

The energy was there for both teams, but Lancaster took the first quarter 25 -13.

To begin the second quarter, Lincoln went on an impressive 10 – 0 run, bringing the score to within two points. Freshman point guard Dorien Goodman did a great job penetrating the defense and distributing the ball. He finished with 12 points. Junior Quinntez Grimes began to assert himself more in this game, driving to the basket and fighting for loose balls. He would go on to lead all Lincoln scorers with 20 points.

Despite a quick start to the second quarter, Lincoln still found themselves trailing 43-35 at the half.

Lancaster Coach Ferrin Douglas undoubtedly has a good offensive team that can move the ball around and has a strong outside shooting threat.

The final quarter began with Lancaster pulling away from Lincoln with a 60 – 49 score. Lincoln would bring the game as close as eight points in the final quarter, but Lancaster’s rebounding, second chance points and outside scoring was just too much to overcome.

Lincoln is set to face Cedar Hill this Friday. Lancaster’s next matchup is Friday at Duncanville.
